Tiz the season to go hiking falalalalalalalala

It's finally get chilly (not the last two days) but I can feel the breeze finally and can go hiking without feeling like I'm in a rain forest in South East Asia!

Tomorrow will be another legendary hike - Yellow Dragon River (黃龍石潤) where you can do hike with not only your legs but with your hands as mostly are rock climbing with gloves and perhaps rope are needed. I am super excited as I think I've been there once and from what i recall this hike is one of the most difficult hike i've ever been to in Hong Kong.

We have a good group tomorrow as the good old absolut walker is now back together for a reunion! This group hasn't been back ever since the trailwalker in 2009.

I hope no major injuries and nothing but pure fun tomorrow woohoo!

Thank you,
Candy

Hong Kong Startup Scene and locating Good Engineering Talent

Hong Kong's Startup scene is starting to blossom.  You can see a lot of US based startup ideas starting to flood over to Hong Kong.  Never the less we still run into the age old problem.....

Where are the freakin DEVELOPERS!!!!  I am lucky to have found a rockstar of a developer here in HK and she has hired a genius programmer from the Philippines.  We are still searching for 2 more developers at this moment and it is really frustrating.

So many good ideas not enough good people to bring them to fruition.  But luckily I am a patient guy and knowing that for the price of one developer I can get 5 here in HK helps quell my frustrations.

Over the lat few months our focus at the company has somewhat changed.  We are moving into an exciting phase in where we are becoming a technology development company.  We are hoping to become the iphone apps kings of HK when it comes to Location based apps.

Stayed Tuned folks to all the wonderful things that will pop up over the next few week to months.  Will make an announcement in a few weeks when we "go live"

Surprise Cooking Lesson for Wonton Power

Given Wonton Power is such a foodie himself, I've decided to register this surprise cooking lesson for him and see if he can take on this challenge. Unfortunately all courses were booked given such short notice except the one that's called 'Family Fun' cooking lesson. Family Fun means kids as young as the age of 3 can attend this class. In other words we were surrounded by kids and parents and all of a sudden there are two of us making introductory dishes that 80% of it are already pre-made.

Menu
  1. Hawaiian Pizza
  2. Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies
  3. Apple Pie
  4. Tuna Salad with Quail Eggs Pastries

It was pain to watch the master chef making everything for us. Wonton Power was bored out of his mind because:
  • He can make all these dishes by himself
  • This course is in Cantonese
  • The kids were annoying.

Wonton Power trying to look interested :)

Bon Bon's proud look

After 3 hours of 'hard work' we've made enough to feed a small village in China. I will not give up and search for more difficult courses to challenge Wonton Power.

Sign off and stay tune for more :)

Origins of ChiSceneHK

Hi All,

Let's break down this word chiscenehk and how it became the name of our blog.

Chi - is the pinyin word for eat

Chizeen is the cantonese word for crazy

Since are a blog primarily about the HK scene and the many crazy things that happen here we decided to combine all the words into one forming

ChiSceneHK - Crazy(Food) Scene HK

I hope you all enjoy reading our blog as much as we like writing it

Until Next time WONTON POWER!

So this is where it all begins.....

I know I know, blogging is more or less old school now but I enjoy sharing experiences/ thoughts/ideas with peeps. I am trying my best to make this blog interesting and completely random but I hope this will give you a kick out of your daily routine. Apparently Bon Bon is my blog name and I have no idea how it got here. If faith wants me to be Bon Bon..... so be it.

Stay tune for Hong Kong Life, Atmosphere and Food
